Are you sizing up your first tablet or display for yourself, or maybe as a gift? Is pixel-perfect artwork a must for professional reasons? If you’re curious about graphic tablets, you’ll want to get familiar with the key differences between Wacom’s Cintiq and Cintiq Pro lines. Scroll down for a quick primer.

First up, you have a total of six models (in four sizes) to choose from. They range from the perfect, premium starter drawing tablet up to the highest professional-grade tablet, including Wacom Cintiq 16/Pro 16, Wacom Cintiq 22, Wacom Cintiq Pro 24/Pro 24 Pen and Touch, and Wacom Cintiq Pro 32 Pen and Touch.

One thing all models share in common is Wacom’s exclusive Responsive Pro Pen 2 (included) which promises virtually no lag and an effortless drawing experience with high-precision control.

Navigation

The Pro 32’s touchscreen delivers the closest navigation experience to using a smartphone, and you’ll spend the least amount of time zooming in or out because you’re working with the largest available display. To all my fellow shortcut connoisseurs, this one is for you! When setting up your Wacom Cintiq 16 and Pro Pen 2 for the first time, take a moment to tweak your tablet and pen functions to suit your personal workflow. Equipped to your Pro Pen 2 you’ll notice two buttons or the Quick Keys on the side. You can easily program these two buttons to your favorite in-app functions or shortcuts through your computer’s settings.

Charging

The Responsive Pro Pen 2 doesn’t need batteries OR charging. Instead, power comes from Electro-Magnetic Resonance (EMR). That essentially means it pulls power off of your tablet, so your creative flow will never be interrupted while drawing.
